I made this for *purpletinker's challenge to make a poster for the upcoming November meetups.
"Can you draw ponies well? Can you draw a picture of a bunch of Buffalo (including Chief Thunderhooves and Little Strongheart) enjoying a meal together with a bunch of the Mane Six dressed as pilgrims? If you can draw this-- and draw it well-- then I will incorporate your picture into our November meetup poster/postcards, and you'll get half of any proceeds we make from selling them! Plus, you'll be a part of Bronies-NYC history, and your work will be shown at BroNYCons forever. FOREVER!"
I was nervous, but Tink convinced me to give it a go, anyway. It was a lot of fun doing something like this with an actual deadline... At least until I get called in to god damn work this morning because everyone else is ill or missing! AAHH! Nearly ruined everything, they did! Plus it didn't help that I then realized that 5PM is actually 3PM since I'm in CO... That made me scream a bit. But I made it, dammit!
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure Tink's gone with this one instead due to it being up a lot sooner (like yesterday, round about when I started this dang thing!). But hey, it'll still make a great drawfriend piece! (PSST: Here's another entry I quite enjoyed. Go hit that jank up!)
Think I'll play with it now that I have time and maybe make it a bit fancier. We'll see.
EDIT1: Fixed background errors and coloring errors, added shadow to the things on the table.
EDIT2: Realizing that this won't become a poster, I made it wallpaper size for your desktoply enjoyment. I might add text, but we'll see if I get around to it.
EDIT3: I got around to it. Also added extra outlines and signature before I send it in to EqD, though because the original .psd file corrupted itself to doom, I couldn't quite do all I wanted. Whatevsies. Happy Turkey Day, all!!!
Hmm. Reading a big thing for a class in college about Puritans, and I remembered pilgrim Twi here.
Very interesting religion. It's the one that had the infamous "Sinners in the Hand of an Angry God" sermon, and taught that ponies people could do nothing to be saved, but some were chosen, and had all kinds of stuff...
Somewhat mentally abusive. I can imagine Twi would be especially subject since she's so OCD (and perhaps more) , but also a very thinking religion that had the attitude of proving it's teachings in everyday life, not just taking for granted anything's from God.
But, aside from the mental abuse, it does actually bear a striking resemblance to Frued's "Talking Cure", and even seems to work along principles William James later discovered. And it's ultimate end, is how ponies people treat eachother as proof of relationship with God. All that is, according to Puritanism.
Seems to match Twi's INTJ personality rather nicely, actually, lol.
Acckk, sorry! This is one of the few pieces to which I don't actually have the original PSD file. It might be on my mom's computer for some reason, and she lives... kinda far, sorry. But I'll see what I can do.
